Speaking to Company magazine Christina Aguilera says that a woman representing herself in sexual ways is not always because of pleasing men. According to Aguilera it is empowering to be able to represent yourself in sexual ways.

She says:

“If I want to be sexual, it’s for my own appreciation and enjoyment! That’s why I like to talk about the fact that sometimes I am attracted to women. I appreciate their femininity and beauty.”

Christina Aguilera canceled her concert tour in May siting busy schedule as the reason for the decision. She has just launched a new album Bionic and is making her debut starring in a film. The movie is a contemporary musical called Burlesque, in which she plays an exotic dancer. Still some say that the real reason for the tour getting canceled might be weak ticket sales. The concert industry has been hit hard this summer with the cancellation of the US U2 tour in addition to Christina’s and weak sales of other acts such as Rihanna.

Christina is making all efforts to promote her new album “Bionic.” After being scheduled for performance in The Oprah Winfrey Show and My Today concert, the Candyman singer is all set to perform on the American Idol Season finale this year.

Christina Aguilera is most likely to perform on her brand new single “Not Myself Tonight”, on the American Idol show which is to be aired on May 26^th.

Christina’s offical twitter page revealed this news saying:

“We’ve reached over 19,000 followers and this just in, Christina Aguilera will be performing on the American Idol finale!”

Christina Aguilera will be joining country music band Rascal Flatts for Toyota’s Annual Summer Concert Series in June of this year. The concert would be kicking off in May and it features performances from Rascal Flatts, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, John Mayer, Sting, Maxwell, Justin Bieber and other artists.

The concert will take place in New York’s Rockefeller Centre and each show would be free for public. The good news is that the concert will go on right till August.

Christina says that she feels sexier, confident and playful after giving birth to baby Max. She adds that being a mom helped her to understand what she wants and how to get it. The “Not Myself Tonight” singer has 2-year-old son, Max, with her husband Jordan Bratman.

Speaking to GMTV, Christina said:

“I’ve grown so much. He’s brought out a more playful side of myself. I feel more comfortable in my own skin then I ever have before.

“I’m more confident – that comes with age. And going through that whole growing cycle of being a mum where with age, I now know exactly what I want and a better understanding of exactly how to get it.

“And I feel sexier than I ever have also.”

Akon says that there is no competition between Christina and Lady Gaga. He says that if you are comparing both of them, you are giving Christina too much credit. Akon, who has signed Lady Gaga to his label in 2008, and feels that Christina has to believe in herself more. He also adds that Christina is extremely talented.

Speaking to VIBE magazine about Christina-Lady Gaga comparision, Akon said,

“Aw man, that’s not even any competition. You are actually giving Christina too much credit. She always had her cool little look and way about how she went about things. But soon as Gaga came out everything switched up.”

“Christina stepped out of her own shell to become something different. And the crazy thing is Christina is really talented. She has unlimited range when it comes to singing. Her voice is out of here. I just think she just needs to believe in herself more. I think sometimes she gets insecure because of all of the success Gaga has had not realizing that she was already successful before Gaga came out.”

Christina Aguilera would be performing on “The Oprah Winfrey Show”, as a part of promotional effort of her new album, “Bionic.”

Oprah Winfrey announced that the 29-year-old singer would be appearing in her show. The show would be taped at 10 A.M. At Radio City Music Hall on May 7. The itself episode would be aired on the same day at 4 PM.

It is still  unconfirmed what song Christina would be singing. However, she is most likely sing the sexy lead single, “Not Myself Tonight” from her album Bionic.

Bionic will hit the stores in US on June 8.

Christina believes she can be a superhuman. Writing about her new album, Bionic, she reveals that every new album is a representation of her personal life experiences. The songs themselves represent many sides of her, she says.

Explaining about her album in her blog post, she writes, “You will find on this album songs that represent the many sides of me. I have learned that like all women I am sometimes capable of being superhuman. Like all women I am BIONIC.”

The cover art of Christina’s new song, “Not Myself Tonight” has the pretty singer in a Devilish look. Christina dons a black corset, suspenders and chains – in what seems to be a skimpy attire. She has a tail with an arrow and a pair of horns tail, essentially suggesting the devil. Her lips have a black shade. The song name ‘Not myself tonight’ is written in black smudged letters.

“Not Myself Tonight” is the upcoming single from the singers new album, “Bionic. ” The song is reportedly co-written by  Ester Dean and produced by powerhouse music maker Polow da Don. The lyrics of the song have been released. The much awaited single would be available for download on April 15.

Christina says her painful childhood memories helped her to cry during the shooting of her debut movie, Burlesque. The singer-turned actress says that she can relate to the central character very well. The character Ali, grows in an abusive household and Christina too shares this experience. The shooting of Burlesque has apparently brought up a lot of painful memories, she confesses.

Speaking to Britain’s OK! magazine, Christina says, “The girl I play, Ali, has a rough past – her mother dies when she’s very young and she’s been in foster homes. I could relate to that pain, growing up in an abusive household.”

“That gave me great motivation to provoke my tears for those scenes where I had to really pour it on. I felt it deeply, to go through a lot of those things that brought up a lot of painful memories.”

Christina is known to have a difficult childhood. In the past, Aguilera confessed that her father was both physically and emotionally abusive. She describes her difficult childhood in her songs, “I’m Ok” and “Oh Mother.”

Christina Aguilera feels that Cher has been extremely helpful to her during the sets of Burlesque – Christina’s big screen debut which also features Cher. The Candyman singer says that Cher has embraced her with open arms and was like a mentor to her on the sets.

Speaking in a interview with OK! Magaizine, Christina said,

“She’s [Cher has] embraced me with open arms, it’s meant the world. She’s been very much a mentor to me, but we get together and it’s like we’re old girlfriends, we’ll talk and talk. I really adore her.”

Burlesque is a story of a small town girl, played by Christina, who flees home and starts working in The Burlesque Lounge – an ailing theatre.
