Christina Aguilera’s new single - Hurt, has not only impressed every music fan but has also knocked off the rap gurus Eminem and Akon off their numero uno positions at the European Singles Charts.

Smack That dropped to number three, a spot held by Aguilera in last week’s top five.

Way to go babe! Keep that up!

I wonder who did that ‘crime’ of comparing someone like Christina Aguilera to Mariah Carey… but Christina seems to be more than happy with that.

She was compared ever since she debuted the musical landscape. She says,

“I get a lot of comparisons…And usually they go in two totally different directions: It’s either the Britney [Spears] comparisons from people who just look at things on the surface, or I get compared to people like Mariah Carey, which is amazing, and I think that comes from [the ones] who are more aware of my vocal abilities and what I can really do.”

I must say its quite early Ms.Aguilera for you to be happy with a comparison with Mariah Carey… I suppose you have a lot to improve before you come on par with Carey!

Looks like going private is the latest Hollywood trend after Scientology. It was just a few weeks ago that Christina Aguilera along with Oscar winner Robin Williams were in Pittsburgh as the hired entertainment at the birthday party of Joe Hardy, founder of 84 Lumber.

Aguilera took a reported $1.5 million to serenade a Russian businessman, Andrei Melnichenko, at his September 2005 wedding.

At this rate, I’m sure she’d be the 10th richest woman in Entertainment in the coming years!

After the likes of Carmen Electra, Christina Applegate, Nicollette Sheridan, Denise Richards and Pamela Anderson, Christina Aguiler is all set to perform as a guest Doll at the launch of Pussycat Dolls Casino in Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas.

The VIP Gala opening is planned for March 3 and Dolls founder and choreographer, Robin Antin, is looking for 90 well proportioned beauties to staff the Casino.A soft opening is scheduled for 01 Feb 2007. The Casino will also officially open for Feb. 4 Super Bowl parties.

We all remember what Pamela Anderson was upto with Pussycat Dolls last year… I’m sure Christina will play a better floozy than Pam.

Christina Aguilera, despite being relatively younger than many women in the Forbes list of the Richest women in Entertainment, stands at the 19th position.

She seems to have earned $60 million in her career as a pop-tart.

I wonder if her on-and-off rival Britney stands anywhere close.

As Christina Aguilera is all geared up for her Back to Basics North American tour… The organizers are busy preparing a unique stage design that will allow Christina’s fans unprecedented access to the stage with unbelievable sight lines. The tour will feature three distinct stage scenes, illuminated by more than 600 moving lights, and a state-of-the-art hydraulic system. In addition, a very special video montage will be featured from fan testimonials that have been submitted to Christina’s fan club online.

Now the topping on this dessert is that special guests, Pussycat Dolls will open for Christina on all North American dates and Danity Kane will also join the tour for U.S. shows.

Christina Aguilera isn’t a happy woman… even after she scooped International Female Artist of the Year and International Album of the Year, for ‘Back to Basics’ at the ceremony in Cannes – which is France’s equivalent of the BRITs.

Apparently she was furious when she lost out on her number-one choice of hotel suite to Gwen Stefani.
Christina had her sights set on the £3,000-a-night presidential suite at the Carlton hotel on the seafront, but was forced to settle for a £2,000-a-night suite at the Martinez instead, after mum-of-one Gwen booked it first.

She was so furious that she didn’t even tip the porters.

“We took all her bags up to her room but we didn’t even get a tip. We took flowers up as well and still, nothing,” revealed a porter.

Joe Hardy celebrated his 84th Birthday and like many of his countless Birthday parties… this one again an affair to remember. Christina Aguilera made a super performance… one I am sure Joe would remember for a long time (I wonder how much time is left on his life clock though) The party was well attended by about 500 A-list invites and wasn’t just a tribute to his life but also to his concern “84 Lumber”

Christina performed to the same old beautiful number “Beautiful” along with Marilyn Monroe’s version of the happy birthday. The Dirty singer was paid about a $1.5 million for her act and needless to say it was another day at the party for the singer… doing the only thing she can and laughing her way to the bank with all that obscene amount of money…

Latest on Dirty singer Christina Aguilera is that now the Dirty singer has decided to play it a lil smelly albeit the good kinds. Christina will now come out with her own brand of perfumes after having tied up with Procter and Gamble prestige products. Christina says she loves trying out new things and a perfume was a step in that direction as well. Now haven’t we heard that before looks like every other celebrity now plans to have his/her perfume line.

Anyways the perfume is expected to hit the stores some time later in the year. I wonder if Christina now having a signature of her would stop smelling as bad as she often does… I at least hope she does cos it would really be bad to have your ‘own’ perfume available in the store next door and you still stink around the town…
